KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Oct. 20, 2015) - The LIU Post men's soccer team has cracked the Top-10 of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II Poll, earning the No. 10 ranking in Tuesday's Top-25 tally.
The Pioneers currently boast an overall record of 9-1-2 and an East Coast Conference ledger of 6-0-0. The green and gold are also unbeaten in their previous nine contests (8-0-1).
Last Saturday, LIU Post opened up a four-game homestand with a 6-1 drubbing of Mercy College. Senior midfielder
Per Forgaard (Stavanger, Norway) netted two tallies to improve his 2015 goal total to six; tying him for the team lead.
Statistically, the Pioneers have the second-best scoring offense in the ECC with 29 goals, trailing only Roberts Wesleyan College (39 goals). Their average of 2.42 goals per game ranks 23rd amongst all of Division II.
LIU Post is back in action Friday (Oct. 23), when it hosts Roberts Wesleyan in an East Coast Conference showdown at Pioneer Soccer Park in Brookville, N.Y. The opening kick is scheduled for noon.
