Football Stumbles in 63-16 Loss at New Haven
Box Score WEST HAVEN, Conn. (Oct. 24, 2015) - The LIU Post football team suffered a 63-16 defeat to University of New Haven in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday at DellaCamera Stadium.
The Pioneers (5-3, 4-3 NE-10) allowed 35 unanswered points to open the game and trailed by a 32-point margin (35-3) at the break.
Freshman kicker
Zach Kolodny (Farmingdale, N.Y.) split the uprights from 31 yards out as time expired in the first half to put LIU Post on the scoreboard.
In the second half, junior quarterback
Jeff Kidd (Salem, Ore.) tossed a pair of third-quarter touchdown passes to close out the scoring for the green and gold.
Kidd first connected with red-shirt sophomore wideout
James Higgins (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) on a three-yard pass in the end zone at the 5:10 mark, capping an 11-play, 80-yard drive.
Then, at the conclusion of the quarter, Kidd found red-shirt junior wide receiver
Shane Hubbard (St. Albans, N.Y.) on a 19-yard touchdown pass.
Kidd finished the day 27-of-41 passing for 227 yards and two touchdowns. Senior h-back
Sean Binckes (Brooklyn, N.Y.) made a game-high seven catches for 43 yards. Hubbard and red-shirt sophomore wide receiver
Kyle Ward (Elizabeth, N.J.) hauled in five passes apiece for 57 and 55 yards, respectively. Higgins recorded four catches for 34 yards.

James Athan (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and red-shirt junior defensive back
Justin Ortiz (Staten Island, N.Y.) each had 11 tackles. Freshman linebacker
Connor Farrell (Holtsville, N.Y.) collected 10 tackles (one solo, nine assist). Red-shirt sophomore defensive lineman
Anthony DeNunzio (Seaford, N.Y.) registered nine tackles (two solo, seven assist). Junior defensive back
Clarence Sears (Montclair, N.J.) added eight tackles (five solo, three assist).
Head Coach
Bryan Collins and the Pioneers return to the gridiron next Saturday (Oct. 31), in a Halloween and Senior Day match-up against NE-10 rival Southern Connecticut State University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
