BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 24, 2015)
- The LIU Post men's and women's cross country teams individually ran to third- and fourth-place finishes on Saturday at the East Coast Conference Championships in Brookville.

For the men, red-shirt junior Mike Scott (Fultonville, N.Y.) repeated as an All-ECC first-team selection, after placing fifth (25:44.30) in the 8k. Red-shirt senior Steven Arnone (Staten Island, N.Y.) finished 12th (26:34.23), earning him All-ECC second-team recognition for the second time in as many years.

Sophomore Ryan Gioe (Huntington Station, N.Y.) followed in 16th place (26:42.42), while fellow sophomore Thomas Flynn (Smithtown, N.Y.) crossed at 27:14.80, which was good for a 19th-place effort.

Junior Tyler McGarvey (Babylon, N.Y.) and freshman Joseph Ranni (Deer Park, N.Y.) respectively added 24th- (27:33.36) and 27th-place (27:41.16) runs at the meet.

The women's 5k featured Top-6 marks from freshman Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) and senior Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.).

Williams topped her own record from the LIU Post Invitational on Sept. 12, clocking a fourth-place run of 18:09. Not to be outdone, Stirling's time of 18:18.05 placed sixth and ranks fourth all-time for a 5k in program history. Both finishes earned nods for Williams and Stirling as All-ECC first-team honorees.

Sophomore Lauren Hoffman (Melville, N.Y.) finished 23rd with a time of 20:07.92. Graduate Brooke Rozea (Syosset, N.Y.) put forth a 36th-place showing (20:56.88). Freshman Kaitie Schillaci (Albany, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for the Pioneers in 44th place (21:25.28).

Head Coach Pat Slevin and his LIU Post squads are back at it on Sunday, Nov. 8 at the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional Championships, hosted by Franklin Pierce University in Hopkinton, N.H. The meet is slated for an 11 a.m. start.
