Field Hockey Loses Overtime Battle at Bentley, 1-0
Box Score WALTHAM, Mass. (Oct. 29, 2015) - In a contest that featured only three shots on goal, the LIU Post field hockey team fell to Northeast-10 Conference rival Bentley University, 1-0, in overtime Wednesday night at Bentley Field.
Senior forward/midfielder Meghan Talerman (Centerville, Mass.) scored the game-winner for the Falcons (9-7, 7-4 NE-10) in the 77th minute, as she beat Pioneers' (10-7, 6-5 NE-10) junior goalie
Ericka Parks (Nesconset, N.Y.) on a shot from just inside the circle on a breakaway.
Sophomore forward
Kaycee Zelkovsky (Lambertville, N.J.) nearly gave LIU Post the lead late in regulation though. With 2:55 remaining, Zelkovsky's shot fooled Bentley junior goaltender Evelyn Schaedel (Burlington, Vt.), but hit the post to keep the game scoreless.
