Jeff Kidd (Salem, Ore.) completed a season-high six touchdown passes Saturday, as the LIU Post football team beat Southern Connecticut State University, 49-46,.in Northeast-10 Conference action at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.
Kidd's six touchdown passes were the most since
Steven Laurino's five-TD game in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship last year. He was one short of tying Perry Klein's single-game record of seven against Salisbury University in 1993.
Tied 7-7 after one period of play, the Pioneers (6-3, 5-3 NE-10) outscored the Owls (3-6, 3-5 NE-10) by a 28-3 count in the second quarter to bring a commanding 35-10 advantage into halftime.

Kidd put LIU Post ahead for good with a 19-yard strike to red-shirt sophomore wide receiver
Kyle Ward (Elizabeth, N.J.) just 32 seconds into the quarter.
He followed that up with back-to-back three-play, 60-yard drives that resulted in touchdown passes to senior h-back
Sean Binckes (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and red-shirt junior wide receiver
Shane Hubbard (St. Albans, N.Y.).
In the fourth quarter, the Pioneers still led by a 25-point margin (49-24), until Southern Connecticut looked to stage a comeback. The Owls scored 22 unanswered points to close the gap to 49-46 with 3:35 left in regulation.

David White (Bronx, N.Y.) and red-shirt sophomore wideout
James Higgins (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) combined for three key first downs on the eventual last series of the contest to secure the win.
In addition to his six touchdown throws, Kidd finished 19-of-27 passing for 282 yards. White ran for a season- and career-high 185 yards on 26 carries. It was the fifth time this season that a Pioneer tailback rushed for over 100 yards.
Binckes (67 yards, one TD), Higgins (48 yards) and Ward (48 yards, two TD's) each hauled in four passes. Red-shirt junior running back
Mike Williams (Westbury, N.Y.) also made four catches, amassing 58 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, junior linebacker
Nate Feliz (Bronx, N.Y.) recorded a season- and career-best 14 tackles (three solo, 11 assist). Red-shirt junior linebacker
Wayne Harris (Queens, N.Y.) totaled 11 tackles (six solo, five assist). Senior defensive lineman
James Athan (Franklin Square, N.Y.) had 10 tackles (one solo, nine assist).

Kenny Scotland (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and sophomore defensive lineman
Kevin Petit-Frere (Amityville, N.Y.) collected two sacks apiece. Scotland and Petit-Frere added four and two quarterback hurries, respectively, as well.
LIU Post averaged 8.2 yards per play in the contest and amassed 542 yards of total offense (260 rushing, 282 passing). Additionally, the Pioneers were 3-of-3 on fourth-down conversions and 6-of-7 in red-zone opportunities.
