LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 7, 2015) - On Tuesday, the LIU Post softball team had nine student-athletes recognized as National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athletes.
The award is bestowed annually on any student-athlete, who posts a grade-point average of 3.5 or better in the specified academic year. In 2014-15, the NFCA honored 833 players from Division II as Scholar-Athlete All-Americans.
The Pioneers' 2015 NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes included 2015 graduate
Catherine Havens (Eastport, N.Y.). Those selections returning were seniors
Maria Palmeri (Middle Village, N.Y.) and
Paige Swantek (Smithtown, N.Y.), juniors
Melissa Peet (Monroe, Conn.) and
Ashley Martin (Long Beach, N.Y.), and sophomores
Jaclyn Hahn (Bayport, N.Y.) and
Samantha Marrone (Holbrook, N.Y.).
