LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 7, 2015) - On Tuesday, the LIU Post softball team had nine student-athletes recognized as National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athletes.

The award is bestowed annually on any student-athlete, who posts a grade-point average of 3.5 or better in the specified academic year. In 2014-15, the NFCA honored 833 players from Division II as Scholar-Athlete All-Americans.

The Pioneers' 2015 NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes included 2015 graduate Catherine Havens (Eastport, N.Y.). Those selections returning were seniors Maria Palmeri (Middle Village, N.Y.) and Paige Swantek (Smithtown, N.Y.), juniors Melissa Peet (Monroe, Conn.) and Ashley Martin (Long Beach, N.Y.), and sophomores Jaclyn Hahn (Bayport, N.Y.) and Samantha Marrone (Holbrook, N.Y.).
