HOPKINTON, N.H. (Nov. 8, 2015)
- The LIU Post men's and women's cross country teams competed Sunday at the 2015 NCAA Division II Northeast Regional Championships, hosted by Franklin Pierce University at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds.

The men placed 14th out of 28 squads in the 10k, while the women finished 18th in the 6k.

Sophomore Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) led the women's team with a sixth-place time of 21:56.81. She narrowly missed securing a second-straight bid to the national title race, as Williams was the fourth runner to finish from a non-qualifying team. The top three non-qualifying individual times are awarded a spot in the national championships as at-large selections.

Senior Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.) came in 19th place, clocking a 22:24.03. Sophomore Lauren Hoffman (Melville, N.Y.) ran a 25:22.95 for the Pioneers.

For the men, red-shirt junior Mike Scott (Fultonville, N.Y.) placed 58th, after crossing at 33:41.02. Sophomore Ryan Gioe (Huntington Station, N.Y.) recorded a 75th-place showing (34:28.73).

Red-shirt senior Steven Arnone (Staten Island, N.Y.) clocked an 86th-place time of 34:57.24. Junior Tyler McGarvey (Babylon, N.Y.) finished 99th (35:22.60).

Head Coach Pat Slevin and the Pioneers close out the 2015 campaign on Saturday, Nov. 21, when they run at the ECAC/IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.
