KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 3, 2015) - Four members of the LIU Post women's soccer team were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-East Region roster, it was announced Wednesday.
Senior forward
Susanne Vistnes (Randaberg, Norway) was a first-team honoree. Junior back
Kristin Brandman (Northport, N.Y.) earned second-team recognition, while senior back
Katie LaManna (Smithtown, N.Y.) and junior midfielder
Julia Backman (Morsil, Sweden) landed on the third-team.
Vistnes, a D2CCA All-East Region and All-East Coast Conference first-team selection and CoSIDA Academic All-American, adds this honor to a long list of accolades during her four years in Brookville and will graduate as the program's all-time leading goal and point scorer. She also helped the green and gold to the second round of the 2015 NCAA Division II Championship for the second-straight year.
Vistnes tallied 19 goals and eight assists for a 46-point output in 2015. She ranked in the Top-10 in all of Division II in goals, points, points per game (2.19) and game-winning goals (7). Vistnes rounds out her prolific four-year career at LIU Post with a program-best 176 points on 71 goals and 34 assists.
Brandman, a fellow D2CCA All-East Region and All-ECC first-team selection, and LaManna, an All-ECC second-team choice, anchored a Pioneer defense that gave up less than one goal per game in 2015. Backman, a member of the All-ECC Second Team, was third on the squad with 19 points on nine goals and one assist.
