KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 8, 2015) - On Tuesday, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America released its final Division II Top-25 Poll for the 2015 campaign, and the LIU Post men's soccer team was ranked eighth.

The Pioneers finished the season with a 15-3-3 overall record, an East Coast Conference Championship and a second-straight NCAA Division II East Region title.

After being selected as the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Division II Tournament, LIU Post knocked off Wilmington University, 6-0, for a chance to play for their second-consecutive regional championship against Southern New Hampshire University. The Pioneers would advance to the national quarterfinals with a dramatic 5-4 victory in penalty kicks, but fell to then-No. 3 University of Charleston, ending their season.

Last week, senior midfielder Per Forgaard (Stavanger, Norway) and sophomore back David Arvidsson (Gothenburg, Sweden) were named All-Americans by the NSCAA. In addition, junior forward Jason Lampkin (Hawardon, North Wales, U.K.), junior keeper Jesper Malmstrom (Linkopping, Sweden) and senior midfielder Matias Ruiz (Southampton, N.Y.), along with Forgaard and Arvidsson, earned NSCAA All-East Region honors. Head Coach Andreas Lindberg was named the organization's East Region Coach of the Year for the second-straight season.
