BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 16, 2015) - After opening the 2015 season Saturday with an impressive 12-8 win against Queens (N.C.), the LIU Post men's lacrosse team climbed one notch to No. 2 in Monday's Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Top-15 Poll.
In the victory over the Royals, junior attackman
Matt Bellando (Miami, Fla.) put on an offensive show, scoring five goals and adding an assist for a game-high six points in his Pioneer debut. Senior midfielder
Connor Drost (Wading River, N.Y.) had a goal and four assists for a five-point output. Senior attackman
Chris Caiazza (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and junior midfielder
Anthony Berardis (Mahopac, N.Y.) chipped in two goals apiece.
Limestone retained the No. 1 ranking in the ledger, following a 16-7 drubbing of then-No. 2 Tampa over the weekend. Adelphi and Le Moyne each rose one spot to third and fourth, respectively, while Tampa fell to fifth. South Region programs Mount Olive (No. 9), Pfeiffer (No. 11) and Florida Tech (No. 15) all made their first appearances in the tally.

John Jez and the Pioneers are back in action Sunday (Feb. 22), when they host Roberts Wesleyan in an East Coast Conference tilt at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in Brookville, N.Y. The opening faceoff is set for noon.
