BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Feb. 25, 2015) - As the 2014-15 LIU Post women's basketball regular season winds down, the Pioneers are preparing for the East Coast Conference Championship that begins Mar. 4.
But before the postseason, LIU Post is gearing up for the last two regular season games at home against Daemen on Friday (Feb. 27) and Roberts Wesleyan on Sunday (Mar. 1). The latter of the two games will be played on CBS Sports Network.
The green and gold are led by senior guard
Chelsea Williams (Copiague, N.Y.), who has made her mark on the LIU Post women's basketball record book. The senior has climbed the all-time scoring list this season, and has secured herself at No. 3 on the list with 1,597 career points. Just last week, she passed former teammate Felicia Joyner to move into the third spot.
Also leading the charge has been fellow senior guard
Ashley Castle (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and junior center
Nyasia Davis (Rahway, N.J.). Castle has averaged 11.0 points per game in her first season in Brookville, while Davis has been a double-double machine, averaging 13.3 points and 10.8 rebounds per game in her second season as a Pioneer.
LIU Post and Daemen are set to tip-off at 5 p.m. on Friday with Senior Night festivities to be held prior. Head Coach
Deirdre Moore will be honoring her three graduating seniors; Williams, Castle and
Jessica Little (Wyandanch, N.Y.).
The televised game is scheduled to start at noon on Sunday. The contest will be a GOLD OUT and all fans are encouraged to wear gold to support the Pioneers. The first 200 students will receive a gold tee-shirt, courtesy of the LIU Post Department of Athletics and Campus Life.
