BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Mar. 16, 2015) - The LIU Post men's lacrosse team has slid to fifth in the latest USILA and Lacrosse Magazine Division II Top-15 rankings, announced Monday afternoon.

The Pioneers, who went 1-1 last week, claimed 105 points in the USILA poll. After falling to then-No. 3 Adelphi, 11-9, on Monday (Mar. 9), the green and gold bounced back with a 12-8 win against No. 10 Molloy on Saturday (Mar. 14) at home.

Senior midfielder Connor Drost (Wading River, N.Y.) tallied a combined eight points (6 G, 2 A) in the two games. He had a game-high six goals in the loss at Adelphi. Junior midfielder Anthony Berardis (Mahopac, N.Y.) collected two goals and five assists on the week for a seven-point total. Senior attackman Chris Caiazza (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and junior attackmen Matty Beccaris (North Babylon, N.Y.) and Ryan Slane (North Babylon, N.Y.) added five points apiece.

Continuing to boast an undefeated record (8-0), Limestone retained the No. 1 ranking in the ledger. Adelphi, following the victory over LIU Post, moved up to second. NYIT and Lake Erie each climbed one spot to No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.

Limestone and Adelphi also topped the Lacrosse Magazine poll. However, Lake Erie trumped NYIT (No. 4) for third. The Storm are just one of four undefeated programs in the Top-15, as they presently boast a 4-0 mark in 2015.

Head Coach John Jez and the Pioneers are back in action Tuesday (Mar. 17), when they square off with UDC in an East Coast Conference tilt at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium. The opening faceoff is set for 3 p.m.
