CHANDLER, Ariz. (Mar. 23, 2015) - On Monday, the NFHCA and Gladiator Custom Mouthguards selected nine members of the LIU Post field hockey team to the 2014 Division II National Academic Squad.
The NFHCA National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2014-15 academic year.
The Pioneers had nine student-athletes honored for their scholarly work. They were:
- Dani Crouse (Gr., D, Westville, South Africa)
- Emilia Herran (Fr., M, Oyster Bay Cove, N.Y.)
- Grace Ilias (Fr., D, Oakville, Ontario)
- Keliann Margiotta (Jr., F, Sewell, N.J.)
- Ericka Parks (So., GK, Nesconset, N.Y.)
- Melissa Quintanilla (So., F, Rome, N.Y.)
- Heidi Schaffner (Jr., D, West Long Branch, N.J.)
- Meredith Stocklin (So., GK, Mount Laurel, N.J.)
- Kaycee Zelkovsky (Fr., F, Lambertville, N.J.)
In 2014, LIU Post, which boasted an 18-4 overall record, captured its second-consecutive Northeast-10 Conference regular-season title and made its second-straight appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championship.
