BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Mar. 23, 2015) - Coming off a 2-0 week, the LIU Post men's lacrosse team individually ranked sixth and seventh in the Lacrosse Magazine and USILA Top-15 rankings, announced Monday afternoon.

The Pioneers, who amassed 89 points and one first-place vote, routed a pair of East Coast Conference rivals. The green and gold dispatched UDC, 13-5, on Tuesday (Mar. 17), before rolling to a 18-6 win against Chestnut Hill over the weekend.

Senior attackman Chris Caiazza (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and junior attackman Ryan Slane (North Babylon, N.Y.) led the Pioneers with seven goals apiece in the two contests. Slane, who amassed a team-leading 12 points, had a season-high six tallies against UDC, while Caiazza registered a season- and career-best seven points (6 G, 1 A) versus Chestnut Hill, as part of his 10-point week.

Junior goaltender Adam Winne (Ridgefield, Conn.) stood tall between the pipes, turning aside 11 shots in each game for a total of 22 saves. He compiled an impressive 5.49 goals-against average and a .688 save percentage, as well.

In the USILA poll, Lake Erie knocked now-No. 2 Limestone off from the top, after a 14-12 win over the Saints on Saturday (Mar. 21). Merrimack also pulled off an upset, defeating then-No. 2 Adelphi, 13-12, on Saturday to move into the No. 3 slot.

NYIT, Adelphi and Le Moyne all dropped, falling at least one place, to claim the No. 4 through No. 6 spots, respectively. Seton Hill, Tampa and Molloy held its ground in rounding out the Top-10.

The latest Lacrosse Magazine tally almost mirrored the USILA rankings. Undefeated programs Lake Erie and Merrimack topped the census. Limestone, NYIT and Adelphi followed to set the nation's five best for the upcoming week.

Head Coach John Jez and his LIU Post squad return to action Wednesday (Mar. 25), when they square off with Post in a non-conference showdown in Waterbury, Conn. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
