CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Mar. 23, 2015) - On Monday, LIU Post softball senior Megan Salcido (Brawley, Calif.) was tabbed as the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, following a six-inning effort of no-hit ball against Southern Connecticut State on Mar. 19.

In the nightcap contest against the Owls, Salcido allowed no hits, walked one and fanned five to secure the 10-0 victory. The win improved the Brawley native to 2-2 on the season with a 1.47 earned-run average.

The Pioneers return to the field Tuesday (Mar. 23), when they face NYIT in their 2015 ECC opener at the LIU Post Softball Complex in Brookville. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
