CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Mar. 30, 2015) - The East Coast Conference handed out its weekly baseball honors on Monday afternoon, and LIU Post senior infielder
Anthony Brunetti (Bayville, N.Y.) was selected as the player of the week by the league.
Brunetti hit at an even .500 clip (8-of-16) in four conference games, as the Pioneers are off to their hottest start in ECC play since 2012. He also collected two RBIs and a run scored in the process.
The Bayville native posted his first career four-hit game (4-for-4) Friday in a 2-1 win at Molloy. He followed that up with a 2-for-3 showing against the Lions in the latter contest of Saturday's double dip.
In 2015, Brunetti is currently LIU Post's third-leading hitter, boasting a .318 average. Additionally, he has four doubles on the year, which ranks fifth-best in the ECC.
Following today's series finale versus Molloy, Brunetti and the Pioneers are back in action Thursday (Apr. 2) versus St. Thomas Aquinas at the LIU Post Baseball Complex at 3 p.m.
