Beccaris Dubbed USILA National Offensive Player of the Week

PERRY, N.Y. (Apr. 1, 2015) - Following a career effort at Dominican, LIU Post men's lacrosse junior attackman Matty Beccaris (North Babylon, N.Y.) has been named the USILA Division II National Offensive Player of the Week, as announced on Wednesday.

Beccaris set a career-high with 10 points, behind an all-time best eight goals and two assists, last Saturday (Mar. 28). He also added a five-point showing (3 G, 2 A) on Wednesday (Mar. 25) at Post.

The national recognition comes after he was named the East Coast Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

Beccaris had a hand in 10 of the Pioneers' 19 goals at Dominican. In the second quarter alone, the North Babylon native played a part in five (4 G, 1 A) of the six tallies scored by the green and gold.

Beccaris sports a team-leading 41 points (28 G, 13 A) on the season. He leads the ECC in goals and shots on goal (48), and stands in the Top-5 in the league in points, man-up goals (5), man-down goals (1) and total shots (75).

Beccaris and the Pioneers are back in action Saturday (Apr. 4), when they face No. 5/5 Merrimack in a non-conference tilt at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in Brookville. The opening faceoff is scheduled for noon.
