Women's Tennis Drops First Spring Match to Adelphi, 8-1

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (Apr. 17, 2015) - The LIU Post women's tennis team opened the spring portion of its 2014-15 season with an 8-1 loss to Adelphi on Thursday at the Adelphi Tennis Courts.

Junior Lucie Chrastecka (Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic) picked up the Pioneers' lone point in singles play, as she defeated Charlotte Moreau (Lyon, France) by a score of 8-6 at the No. 2 flight.

Fellow junior Didi Fatchikova (Sofia, Bulgaria) played a competitive top-singles match with freshman Stefani Lineva (Middle Village, N.Y.), but eventually fell in an 8-5 decision.

Chrastecka and Fatchikova also competed as the No. 1 doubles tandem for the green and gold. However, the pair dropped a close 9-8 result to Moreau and Katarina Barborikova (Puchov, Slovakia).
