PERRY, N.Y. (Apr. 20, 2015) - The LIU Post men's lacrosse team has climbed one spot to sixth in the latest USILA Division II Top-15 Poll, released Monday.
The Pioneers, who collected 108 points in the tally, narrowly edged East Coast Conference rival NYIT by two points. They also came up one point shy of tying Adelphi (109 points) for the No. 5 slot.
Heading into the final game of the regular season, the green and gold have won two in a row and seven of their last eight. LIU Post is coming off a 15-7 victory at Dowling on Saturday to improve to 11-2 overall and 7-0 in league play. Junior attackman
Matty Beccaris (North Babylon, N.Y.) led all scorers with six points (3 G, 3 A) in the contest. Fellow junior attackman
Matt Bellando (Miami, Fla.) had a game-high four goals.
Le Moyne (No. 1), Limestone (No. 2) and Lake Erie (No. 3) all earned first-place votes to secure a spot as one of the top three teams in the country. Merrimack stood pat in fourth. Seton Hill, after Saturday's tough 9-8 loss at NYIT, dipped from fifth to eighth.
In the Nike/Lacrosse Magazine ledger, the Pioneers remained fifth for a second-straight week. Le Moyne again led the way, while Limestone, Lake Erie and Merrimack re-claimed their No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 rankings, respectively.

John Jez and his LIU Post squad return to action Saturday (Apr. 25), when they wrap up the 2015 regular season in Dobbs Ferry at ECC rival Mercy. The opening faceoff is slated for 1 p.m.
