GRAND LAKE, Colo. (May 27, 2015) - Following an East Coast Conference title-winning campaign, the LIU Post women's lacrosse team rounded out the 2015 season at No. 9 in the IWLCA Division II Poll, announced Tuesday.
The Pioneers boasted an overall record of 15-4 on the year, including an unblemished 8-0 mark in ECC play. Since 2013, the green and gold have reeled off 22 consecutive wins versus league opponents.
Five players were named IWLCA All-Americans. They were
Emily Delaney (Long Valley, N.J.),
Emily Hanifan (Hicksville, N.Y.),
Jenna Pierro (Holbrook, N.Y.),
Connor Bird (Syosset, N.Y.) and
Kali Maxwell (Colorado Springs, Colo.).
Additionally, Hanifan, who was one of eight Pioneers selected to the All-ECC roster, was lauded as the ECC Co-Defensive Player of the Year.
Adelphi, after defeating now-No. 2 Lock Haven in overtime for the national championship, took over the top spot in the poll. Le Moyne and Lindenwood flip-flopped at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. New Haven stood pat in fifth.
