PERRY, N.Y. (May 4, 2015) - Ahead of the program's second-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, the LIU Post men's lacrosse team has been slotted sixth in Monday's USILA Division II Poll.

The Pioneers (14-2, 8-0 ECC) were victorious in the East Coast Conference Championship on Saturday (May 2), handling NYIT by a final score of 14-9. Junior goalkeeper and ECC Tournament Most Outstanding Player Adam Winne (Ridgefield, Conn.) made 13 saves in the title game after stopping 15 Molloy shots in a 15-7 ECC semifinal victory on Wednesday (Apr. 29). Fellow junior Matty Beccaris (North Babylon, N.Y.) turned in another brilliant performance on offense, scoring five goals and adding an assist. Senior defender and face-off specialist Dan Jeannotte (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) went 16-for-27 on restarts and continued his dominance by scooping up 10 ground balls in the win.

The week of conference championships shook up the USILA tally heading into this weekend's first-round contests. Limestone reclaimed the No.1 overall ranking after winning the program's seventh consecutive Conference Carolinas Tournament championship. Adelphi jumped up to the second position after knocking off former-No. 1 Le Moyne in overtime to clinch the Northeast-10 Conference title. The Dolphins fell to third in the ledger, while Merrimack and ECAC champion Lake Erie rounded out the top-5 in the poll.

LIU Post and NYIT lead the bottom half of the USILA's top-10, with Lindenwood (Mo.) slotted eighth. Tampa claimed the ninth position and also won the Sunshine State Conference championship, while Seton Hill finished the season ranked tenth overall. Of the USILA's top-10 programs, only NYIT and Seton Hill did not earn berths into the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

Head Coach John Jez and the LIU Post men's lacrosse team are the No. 4 seed in the North Region of the 2015 NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Tournament. The Pioneers will travel to top-seed Le Moyne for a first-round contest on Saturday (May 9), with the first face-off set for 2:30 p.m. Last season, the Pioneers scored a 9-3 victory over Le Moyne in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
