DANBURY, Conn. (Jun. 1, 2015) - On Monday, LIU Post men's lacrosse senior defenseman
Robbie Chiocco (Massapequa, N.Y.) and junior attackman
Ryan Slane (North Babylon, N.Y.) were selected to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II All-Star Second Team.
The duo helped the Pioneers to a second-consecutive East Coast Conference Championship and a third-straight appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament. They also garnered All-ECC and USILA All-America accolades in the process.
Chiocco, a Second Team USILA All-American, paced a defensive unit that averaged the second-fewest goals against (8.60) in the ECC. His 2015 resume also included 19 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers, in addition to three assists.
Slane, a USILA All-America Honorable Mention choice, tallied a career-high 22 assists and 50 points. His 22 helpers ranked as the ninth-highest total in the league. Meanwhile, four of Slane's 28 goals on the year occurred on the man-up.
