DANBURY, Conn. (Jun. 2, 2015) - The Eastern College Athletic Conference revealed Tuesday that five members of the LIU Post women's lacrosse team were chosen to the ECAC Division II All-Star Second Team.

Those selected were Emily Delaney (Long Valley, N.J.)Jenna Pierro (Holbrook, N.Y.), Emily Hanifan (Hicksville, N.Y.), Kali Maxwell (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Olivia Kirk (Farmingdale, N.Y.).

Delaney had a breakout year in 2015, earning All-East Coast Conference first-team and IWLCA All-America second-team honors along the way. She tallied a team-high 53 assists and 87 points in her sophomore campaign. Her 53 helpers were tops in the ECC and ranked seventh in all of Division II. Furthermore, Delaney's average of 2.79 assists per game placed fifth-best in the country.

Pierro, like Delaney, was an All-ECC first-team and IWLCA All-America second-team choice, as well. She established career-highs in her senior season with 55 goals, 20 assists and 75 points. Pierro scored at least three goals in 13 of the 19 games she played in, while also winning multiple draws and ground balls in more than half the team's contests.

Hanifan and Maxwell were key cogs for a defensive unit that allowed the fourth-fewest goals against (106) in Division II. Hanifan, the ECC Co-Defensive Player of the Year, amassed 27 ground balls and forced 17 turnovers, whereas Maxwell collected 30 draw controls, 20 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers over the course of the year. They each received nods as All-ECC selections and IWLCA All-Americans for their efforts.

Lastly, Kirk, a three-time ECC Goalie of the Week honoree, stepped in as a freshman to claim the starting netminder spot. In 19 appearances, she posted a 13-4 record with a 6.05 goals-against average and .535 save percentage, both of which ranked third amongst Division II goaltenders. On Mar. 7, Kirk had quite the performance in her first collegiate start, making a season-high 12 saves at then-No. 7 Le Moyne.
