STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (Jan. 23, 2016) 
- On Friday, the LIU Post men's and women's indoor track and field teams ran at the NYC Gotham Cup at the Ocean Breeze Park Track and Field Athletic Complex.

In the sprints, four Pioneer men won their respective heats and recorded either personal- or season-bests in the process.

Red-shirt freshman Kasim Thomas (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and red-shirt junior Wayne Harris (Jamaica, N.Y.) individually ran a 23.07 and 23.25 in the 200-meter dash.

Junior Stefan Adams (Jamaica, N.Y.) and red-shirt sophomore Kyle Ward (Elizabeth, N.J.) respectively placed 33rd and 52nd in the 400-meter dash, with times of 50.75 and 51.53.

Red-shirt junior Mike Scott (Fultonville, N.Y.) clocked a 20th-place and personal-best 4:21.53 in the mile. Sophomore Ryan Gioe (Huntington Station, N.Y.) added a 4:50.55 in the same event.

Red-shirt sophomore Ramel Joseph (Jamaica, N.Y.) leapt to a personal-best 5.87 meters (19 feet, 3.25 inches) in the long jump.

For the women, senior Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.) finished 23rd in the 3,000-meter run, crossing at a personal record of 10:29.7.

Junior Chloe Margulis (Port Washington, N.Y.) took second in her heat in the 400-meter dash, running a 1:08.09.

LIU Post returns to action next Thursday (Feb. 4), when they compete at the Metropolitan Championships at the Ocean Breeze Complex in Staten Island.
