ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Oct. 14, 2016) - Junior back David Arvidsson (Gothenburg, Sweden) tallied the deciding goal in the 13th minute Friday evening to lead the No. 5 LIU Post men's soccer team to a 1-0 win at East Coast Conference foe Roberts Wesleyan College at Roberts Wesleyan Stadium.

Arvidsson fired a shot just underneath the crossbar for the game's lone tally. The goal was the fourth of his career at LIU Post (10-0-1, 3-0-1 ECC), three of which have come against Roberts (3-8-1, 2-4 ECC).

The Pioneers outshot the Redhawks in the match, 12-6, and owned a 12-5 advantage in corner kicks. The green and gold also held the opposition without a shot on goal for a stretch of 53:16 in the match.

Senior midfielder Harry Pearse (London, England), who assisted on Arvidsson's game-winning goal, led all players with six shots in the effort. Graduate back Seb Baxter (Saffron Walden, England) had four shots.

Between the pipes, senior goalie Jesper Malmstrom (Linkopping, Sweden) made a game-high-tying five saves for his fourth clean sheet of 2016 and 18th career shutout. Junior keeper John Ciavaglia (Pittsford, N.Y.) turned aside five shots for Roberts Wesleyan.

Head Coach Andreas Lindberg and his LIU Post squad are back in action Sunday (Oct. 16), when they take on ECC nemesis Daemen College at 1:30 p.m. in Amherst.
