BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 28, 2016) - The No. 6 LIU Post field hockey team closed out the 2016 regular season Friday with a 3-0 win against Northeast-10 Conference foe Franklin Pierce University at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.

Following a scoreless first half, the Pioneers (13-3, 9-3 NE-10) exploded for a three-goal outburst in the latter period. Two of those tallies occurred in a span of 3:16.

Less than two minutes into the second half, sophomore forward/midfielder Emily Miller (Bridgewater, N.J.) fired a shot through the wickets of Ravens' (3-14, 0-12 NE-10) junior goaltender Meaghan Williams (Salem, N.H.) for the game's opening tally.

Three minutes later, senior midfielder Steph Mocerino (Andover, N.J.) unleashed a shot from the right side of the circle into the cage to extend the green and gold's lead to 2-0.

Junior midfielder Alyssa Lopresti (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) capped off the scoring in the 51st minute, when she cranked a 10-yard shot into the upper-right corner of the net.

Between the pipes, senior goalies Ericka Parks (Nesconset, N.Y.) and Savanah Cummings (Midlothian, Va.) combined to make three saves for LIU Post. Williams stopped nine shots for Franklin Pierce.

Head Coach Raenee Savin and the Pioneers now await word on their seeding in next week's Northeast-10 Championship. For more information, please visit Northeast10.org.
