TROY, N.Y. (Nov. 15, 2016) - Red-shirt junior
Jackson Mordente (Farmingville, N.Y.) placed second in the 157-lb. weight class Sunday to lead the LIU Post wrestling team at the 2016 Journeymen Collegiate Classic at Hudson Valley Community College.
Mordente secured a 6-1 win against Ohio State's Anthony DeCarlo (Springfield, Ohio), en route to posting a 2-2 mark in the round-robin tournament. He also lost a pair of close two-point bouts to Oklahoma's Jared Schieber (Newkirk, Okla.) and Ithaca's Jawan Jones (Linden, N.J.).
Junior
Matt Langan (Wantagh, N.Y.) collected two victories at 149 lbs. He bested Cortland's Matt Caputo (Stony Point, N.Y.) by a 9-2 decision and claimed a medical forfeit over Ithaca's Sammy Schneider (Park Ridge, N.J.).

Ed Ramirez, Jr. (Massapequa, N.Y.) triumphed against Buffalo's Ryan Therrien (Boxford, Mass.), 9-2, at 165 lbs. Sophomore
Logan McGinn (Medford, N.Y.) was a 5-2 victor over The Citadel's Chandler Sambets (Hanahan, S.C.) at 184 lbs.
In the 174-lb. weight class, sophomore
Dan Arkow (Merrick, N.Y.) came up short in a 3-1 loss to Ty Millward (State College, Pa.) of West Virginia.
Meanwhile, at 197 lbs., senior
Freddy Vidal (Westbury, N.Y.) earned his second win as a Pioneer, after pinning Buffalo's Nate Rose (Bronx, N.Y.) in 0:31.
Lastly, at heavyweight, fellow sophomore
Monair McDonald (Roosevelt, N.Y.) dropped a pair of 5-1 decisions to Cortland's Nicholas Lupi (Huntington, N.Y.) and Rob Kelly (Monroe, N.Y.).
