NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. (Nov. 5, 2016) - The No. 10 LIU Post football team finished off an unbeaten regular season Saturday with a 64-7 drubbing of Northeast-10 Conference foe Merrimack College at Martone-Mejail Field.

The Pioneers, who are 10-0 for the first time since 2002, will host No. 15 Assumption College in next Saturday's NE-10 Championship at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium at noon. The contest will be carried live on ESPN3.

In his return from injury, senior quarterback Jeff Kidd (Salem, Ore.) completed 21-of-30 passes for 266 yards and two touchdowns. Red-shirt sophomore signal-caller Michael Campbell (Howell, N.J.) was 5-of-6 passing for 74 yards and a pair of TD's.

LIU Post, which allowed only one sack on the afternoon, accumulated a season-high 534 yards of total offense. The Pioneers also limited the Warriors (2-8, 2-7 NE-10) to 167 yards of offense, only 65 of which came through the air.

The green and gold scored on five of their first eight drives, and took a commanding 31-0 advantage into the locker room.

On their first scoring possession, LIU Post needed just six snaps to find the end zone. Senior running back David White (Bronx, N.Y.) rushed for a 15-yard touchdown to put the Pioneers up 7-0 with 8:35 left in the opening stanza.

Later in the period, it was a five-play drive that extended the visitors' lead to 14-0. This time, Kidd connected with red-shirt junior wide receiver Kyle Ward (Elizabeth, N.J.) for a 12-yard touchdown pass.

In the second quarter, red-shirt sophomore running back Malik Pierre (Holbrook, N.Y.) tacked on a three-yard touchdown run on the Pioneers' first series of the period.

One drive later, Kidd threw a three-yard touchdown strike to red-shirt senior wide receiver Shane Hubbard (St. Albans, N.Y.). That reception tied Hubbard with former LIU Post wideout Jeremiah Pope for the program's all-time receiving touchdowns record.

In the second half, the Pioneers kept their foot to the gas pedal. Two snaps into the third quarter, red-shirt sophomore defensive back Kasim Thomas (Bronx, N.Y.) took a Brenton Martin (Marietta, Ga.) interception back for an 18-yard pick-six.

Meanwhile, Campbell stepped in at quarterback and threw touchdown passes to red-shirt junior wide receiver Tyler Collins (Sayville, N.Y.) and red-shirt sophomore wideout Michael Hartgrove (Valley Stream, N.Y.). Freshman running back Tim Marinan (Longwood, Fla.) contributed an 18-yard touchdown run.

Defensively, LIU Post had four interceptions in the contest, two of which were by freshman defensive back Joshua Flowers (Mount Laurel, N.J.). Red-shirt junior defensive lineman Anthony DeNunzio (Seaford, N.Y.) had a team-high five tackles (two solo, three assist) in the victory. Red-shirt freshman linebacker Conor Haverty (Bellport, N.Y.) made four solo tackles and forced a fumble.
