SOUTH HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (Feb. 12, 2016) 
- In its final tune-up before the East Coast Conference Championships, the LIU Post men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Molloy College Invitational Friday at St. Anthony's High School.

Red-shirt junior Mike Scott (Fultonville, N.Y.) won the 5,000-meter run, crossing at 15:15.45. He also ran the first leg of the 4x800-meter relay, which recorded a winning time of 8:36.98.

In addition, the Pioneers came in first in the 4x200-relay. Junior Stefan Adams (Jamaica, N.Y.), red-shirt sophomores Ramel Joseph (Jamaica, N.Y.) and Kyle Ward (Elizabeth, N.J.) and red-shirt freshman Kasim Thomas (Bronx, N.Y.) sprinted to a 1:31.98. Ward leapt to an eighth-place distance of 6.47 meters (21 feet, 2.75 inches) in the long jump, as well.

In the 4x400-meter relay, Ward, Thomas, Adams and red-shirt junior Wayne Harris (Jamaica, N.Y.), who tied for eighth in the 60-meter dash (7.18), placed third, finishing at 3:31.98.

Freshman Joseph Ranni (Deer Park, N.Y.) posted a 17th-place time of 4:56.76 in the mile. Sophomore Thomas Flynn (Smithtown, N.Y.) and red-shirt senior Steven Arnone (Staten Island, N.Y.) clocked respective 15th- (2:00.10) and 21st-place (2:11.21) marks in the 800-meter run.

For the women, sophomore Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) and senior Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.) individually won the mile (5:20.40) and the 5,000-meter run (18:19.03).

Moreover, Williams and Stirling teamed up with freshmen Charlene Hickey (East Meadow, N.Y.) and Kaitie Schillaci (Albany, N.Y.) for a fourth-place finish (4:32.33) in the 4x400-relay.

Schillaci added a 15th-place time of 2:36.84 in the 800-meter run, while sophomore Nicolette DeSouza (Stroudsburg, Pa.) was 21st (8.61) in the 60-meter dash.

The Pioneers return to action on Friday, Feb. 26 at the ECC Championships at the Ocean Breeze Park Track and Field Athletic Complex at 5 p.m. in Staten Island.
