ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Apr. 23, 2016) 
- Red-shirt junior Mike Scott (Fultonville, N.Y.) and senior Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.) achieved individual league titles in the 5,000-meter run Saturday, leading the LIU Post men's and women's outdoor track and field teams to strong finishes at the East Coast Conference Championships at Roberts Wesleyan College.

Scott ran to a meet-record 15:26.33 in the 5k. Juniors Stefan Adams (Jamaica, N.Y.) and Devin Pettaway (Amityville, N.Y.) individually placed second in the 400-meter dash and 400-meter hurdles, crossing at times of 49.90 and 58.29.

Red-shirt junior Wayne Harris (Jamaica, N.Y.) was sixth in the finals of the 100-meter dash, clocking an 11.28. He also joined Adams, red-shirt sophomore Kyle Ward (Elizabeth, N.J.) and red-shirt freshman Kasim Thomas (Bronx, N.Y.) to win the 4 x 400-meter relay in 3:26.42.

In the 1,500-meter run, sophomore Thomas Flynn (Smithtown, N.Y.) came in eighth, recording a time of 4:18.51.

For the women, Stirling also set a meet record in the 5,000, running an 18:11.02. Additionally, she ran the first leg of the Pioneers' 4 x 800-meter relay, which finished second at 10:07.50.

Meanwhile, sophomore Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) posted a sixth-place showing (4:54.05) in the 1,500. Freshman Kaitie Schillaci (Albany, N.Y.) added an 11th-place 5:15.69 in the same event.

In her first-ever appearance at the ECC Championships, junior Clara Fischer (Bondorf, Germany) clocked a ninth-place mark of 2:27.79 in the 800-meter run.

LIU Post is back in action Thursday (Apr. 28), when it competes at the Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa.
