Women's Lacrosse Continues at No. 5 in IWLCA Division II Poll

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 25, 2016) - The LIU Post women's lacrosse team has remained at No. 5 in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division II Poll, released Monday afternoon.

The Pioneers, who amassed 318 points in the IWLCA voting, also stood pat in eighth in Monday's Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Division II Top-15 rankings.

LIU Post won two road games in three days last week to improve to 12-3 overall and 6-1 against East Coast Conference opposition. It first defeated Saint Anselm College, 15-9, on Thursday (Apr. 21), before rolling to a 12-3 victory at Queens College on Saturday (Apr. 23).

Senior attacker Emily Delaney (Long Valley, N.J.) led the Pioneer offense, tallying 14 points (9 G, 5 A) in the two contests. She currently places fourth in Division II in assists (58), assists per game (3.2) and points per game (5.67).

Between the pipes, sophomore cageminder Olivia Kirk (Farmingdale, N.Y.) made 16 saves last week, in addition to compiling a 6.05 goals-against average. For the season, Kirk's .593 save percentage and 4.47 GAA individually rank first and second amongst the nation's goaltenders.

The Pioneers are back in action Tuesday (Apr. 26), when they host 20th-ranked Stonehill College in a non-conference showdown at 4 p.m. at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in Brookville.
