BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (May 18, 2016) - On Wednesday, LIU Post baseball sophomore outfielder
Rob Andreoli (North Wantagh, N.Y.) and senior first baseman
David Groeneveld (Centereach, N.Y.) were tabbed as All-East Region Honorable Mention selections by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Andreoli, an All-East Coast Conference first-team honoree, led all everyday players with a .337 batting average. He also paced the team with 20 stolen bases and 55 hits, and was second on the team with 10 doubles, 27 RBIs, a .399 on-base percentage and a .429 slugging percentage. In addition, Andreoli had a team-best 17-game hitting streak from Mar. 28 to Apr. 30.
Groeneveld, who was an All-ECC second-team choice, anchored the team with four home runs, 18 doubles, 38 RBIs, and a .556 slugging percentage. He also had a 16-game hitting streak from Apr. 8 to May 7 and ended his career with a 3-for-5 game with two RBIs in a win over Mercy.
