BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (May 2, 2016) - On Monday, the LIU Post men's lacrosse team remained at No. 6 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association/Nike Division II Top-20 Coaches' Poll.

The Pioneers, who also improved one spot to No. 7 in the Nike/Lacrosse Magazine rankings, ended the regular season on a six-game winning streak, after rolling over University of the District of Columbia, 18-3, on Saturday (Apr. 30).

Senior attackman Matty Beccaris (North Babylon, N.Y.) scored his 145th career goal in the win to break the program's all-time record, held by legendary coach and LIU Post Athletic Hall of Famer Tom Postel (144 goals from 1963-65).

Junior midfielder Anthony Galeotafiore (Wantagh, N.Y.) won 15-of-20 draws (75.0 percent) to improve his ECC-best faceoff win percentage on the year to .689. That mark also ranks sixth in Division II.

In his first collegiate appearance, freshman goaltender Bryan Ochs (Syosset, N.Y.) made seven saves in the contest, all of which came in the first 45 minutes of play.

Head Coach John Jez and his top-seeded LIU Post squad are back in action Wednesday (May 4), when they host No. 4 seed Mercy College in an East Coast Conference Championship semifinal at 4 p.m. at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in Brookville.
