PERRY, N.Y. (May 9, 2016) - The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its final 2016 Division II Top-25 Coaches' Poll on Monday, and LIU Post climbed one spot to No. 5 in the rankings.
Last weekend, the Pioneers captured their fourth-consecutive East Coast Conference Championship with a thrilling 12-11 victory over then-No. 7 New York Institute of Technology.
Senior attackman
Matt Bellando (Miami, Fla.) was named the Most Outstanding Player of the ECC Tournament, after scoring eight goals in the two postseason contests. Five of those tallies, including the game-winner, came in the title game versus NYIT.
Limestone College (279 points) and Le Moyne College (267 points) continued to stand at No. 1 and No. 2 in the poll. Merrimack College (246 points) and Mercyhurst University (238 points) respectively followed in third and fourth.

John Jez and his LIU Post squad kick off NCAA Tournament action on Saturday (May 14), when they face second-seeded Merrimack in a national quarterfinal tilt at 1 p.m. in North Andover, Mass.
