BRONX, N.Y. (Sept. 10, 2016)
 - On Saturday, junior Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) led the LIU Post women's cross country team to a third-place finish at the Fordham Fiasco, hosted by Fordham University at Van Cortlandt Park.

Williams crossed at a winning time of 18:53 in the 5k. That mark also shatters a 13-year program record at Van Cortlandt Park, breaking former standout Christa Imperiale's run of 19:01 in 2003.

Freshman Nicolette Agostinacchio (Wantagh, N.Y.) finished 17th, clocking a 22:23.93. Sophomore Kaitie Schillaci (Albany, N.Y.) added a 34th-place showing (24:03.97), while freshman Kaitlyn Jones (Ridgewood, N.Y.) followed in 36th at 24:13.90.

On the men's side, freshman Jeffrey Reyes (Bay Shore, N.Y.) paced the Pioneers with a seventh-place time of 27:18.60.

Junior Ryan Gioe (Huntington Station, N.Y.) clocked a 28:02.58, good for a 16th-place effort. Senior Tyler McGarvey (Babylon, N.Y.) was 31st (29:02.31) in the five-mile race.

As a team, the men finished fifth out of 11 squads.

Head Coach Kevin Buckley and the Pioneers return to action on Saturday (Sept. 17), when they run in the Monmouth Invitational, hosted by Monmouth University in Holmdel, N.J.
