Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) won the 5k in 18:40.5 on Saturday to lead the LIU Post cross country teams at the Monmouth Invitational at Holmdel Park.
The Pioneer women captured a first-place finish in the 5k, while the men's team raced to a second-place effort.
Williams ran to a winning time for the second-straight week, after accomplishing the feat at the Fordham Fiasco (18:53). Graduate
Ashlin Conroy (Syosset, N.Y.) placed 14th, clocking a 20:43.4.
Freshman
Nicolette Agostinacchio (Wantagh, N.Y.) was 25th (22:22.7) in the race, with sophomore
Kaitie Schillaci (Albany, N.Y.) following in 27th (22:47.7).
On the men's side, junior
Ryan Gioe (Huntington Station, N.Y.) posted a 16th-place time of 28:55.1. Sophomore
Joseph Ranni (Deer Park, N.Y.) was 22nd, crossing at 29:40.
Senior
Tyler McGarvey (Babylon, N.Y.) clocked a 30:31.5, which was good enough for a 26th-place showing.

Kevin Buckley and the Pioneers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 1, when they host the LIU Post Invitational at 10:30 a.m. in Brookville, N.Y.
