HOLMDEL, N.J. (Sept. 17, 2016)
- Junior Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) won the 5k in 18:40.5 on Saturday to lead the LIU Post cross country teams at the Monmouth Invitational at Holmdel Park.

The Pioneer women captured a first-place finish in the 5k, while the men's team raced to a second-place effort.

Williams ran to a winning time for the second-straight week, after accomplishing the feat at the Fordham Fiasco (18:53). Graduate Ashlin Conroy (Syosset, N.Y.) placed 14th, clocking a 20:43.4.

Freshman Nicolette Agostinacchio (Wantagh, N.Y.) was 25th (22:22.7) in the race, with sophomore Kaitie Schillaci (Albany, N.Y.) following in 27th (22:47.7).

On the men's side, junior Ryan Gioe (Huntington Station, N.Y.) posted a 16th-place time of 28:55.1. Sophomore Joseph Ranni (Deer Park, N.Y.) was 22nd, crossing at 29:40.

Senior Tyler McGarvey (Babylon, N.Y.) clocked a 30:31.5, which was good enough for a 26th-place showing.
