POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (Sept. 3, 2016) - Led by junior Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.), the LIU Post women's and men's cross country teams placed third and fourth, respectively, at the season-opening Marist Invitational, hosted by Marist College at Vassar Farms in Poughkeepsie.
Williams paced the women, coming in second overall in the 5,000-meter run. She crossed the line at 18.35.6. Graduate Ashlin Conroy (Syosset, N.Y.) was next for the Pioneers at 19.56.3. Freshman Nicolette Agostinacchio (Wantagh, N.Y.) came in at 21.59.1.
On the men's side, freshman Jeffrey Reyes (Bay Shore, N.Y.) led the Pioneers in his first collegiate race. He finished the 6,000-meter run at 20.49.6. Sophomore Joseph Ranni (Deer Park, N.Y.) crossed the line next for the green and gold at 21.24.6.
Head Coach Kevin Buckley and the Pioneers return to action next Saturday (Sept. 10) at the Fordham Fiasco, hosted by Fordham University at Van Cortlandt Park at 9:30 a.m. in the Bronx.
