Pierre Named NE-10 Offensive Player of the Week
Masfield, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference announced its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and amongst the honored was redshirt-junior
Malik Pierre who was named NE10 Offensive Player of the Week. Additionally,
Yianni Gavalas (Sr. QB), and
Nazir Streater (Fr., DB) appeared on the honor roll.
Malik Pierre (R-Jr.) – Offensive Player of the Week
Pierre garners his first Offensive Player of the Week recognition after leading the team in rushing in the Pioneers' win over AIC, finishing with 134 yards on just eight attempts. He added on to the tally when he ran for a 62-yard touchdown, the longest of the season, which resulted in in his third touchdown of the day. Pierre has now finished with triple digit totals in the running game for the second-straight outing, and third of the season. Additionally, he also returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown in a 70-21 win over American International.
Yianni Gavalas (Sr.) –
Weekly Honor Roll
Gavalas went for a nearly perfect 14-16 for 184 yards and four touchdowns in Saturday's 70-21 rout of American Int'l, in which the Pioneers scored a touchdown on 10 of their 12 possessions.
Nazir Streater (Fr.) –
Weekly Honor Roll
Streater tallied a team-high eight tackles in the 70-21 win over AIC. The freshman also forced a fumble in the third quarter and would later on recover another loose ball for the Pioneers.
