EASTON, Mass. (Mar. 12, 2017) - The No. 4/8 LIU Post women's lacrosse team kicked off a six-game road trip Sunday with a 10-5 victory against No. 19/20 Stonehill at W.B. Mason Stadium.
Tied 2-2, the Pioneers (3-1) scored five of the final six goals of the opening half to take a 7-3 lead into the break.
Sophomore midfielder
Ryan McKinney (Downingtown, Pa.) bookended the run with free-position goals. Freshman midfielder
Alyssa Mallery (Wantagh, N.Y.) dished out a pair of assists.
In the second half, Stonehill (1-2) cut the deficit to a 7-4 game, before LIU Post notched three unanswered tallies to seal the victory.

Alexis Newman (Medford Lakes, N.J.) recorded a goal and an assist in the outburst. Mallery and sophomore attacker
Mackenzie Hitchcock (Medina, Ohio) added goals, as well.

Morgan Lannig (Syosset, N.Y.) had a team-high three points apiece in the win. Mallery also won four ground balls and two draws and forced two turnovers.
Senior attacker
Connor Bird (Syosset, N.Y.) netted a pair of goals, in addition to totaling three draws and two caused turnovers. Newman and freshman attacker
Jill LoManto (Miller Place, N.Y.) each amassed two points (1 G, 1 A).
Between the pipes, junior goaltender
Olivia Kirk (Farmingdale, N.Y.) made 11 saves for the Pioneers, who converted 11-of-16 (68.7 percent) clears and 3-of-6 (50.0 percent) free-position shots.
