EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. (Mar. 24, 2017) - Sophomore midfielder
Ryan McKinney (Downingtown, Pa.) notched a career-high seven goals Friday, including the game-tying and go-ahead tallies, to lead the No. 4 LIU Post women's lacrosse team to a 12-11 win against East Stroudsburg University at Whitenight Field.
The victory extended the Pioneers' winning streak to four straight games and improved their record to 5-1 overall.
Down 11-10 in the final minutes of regulation, McKinney scored back-to-back goals just 1:40 apart to put LIU Post in front for good with 6:22 remaining.
From there, the green and gold held their opposition without a shot for the remainder of the contest and forced a pair of Warriors' (5-1) turnovers to seal the victory.
The Pioneers, who led 5-4 at the break, eventually trailed 11-10 at the 8:30 mark of the second half, after consecutive goals by ESU's T.J. Jefferis (Phoenixville, Pa.).
However, McKinney quickly tied the score with a free-position goal just 28 seconds later. She followed that up with the eventual game-winner, on an extra-man opportunity.
Senior attacker
