McKinney Selected as ECC Player of the Week

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Apr. 25, 2017) - For the first time this year, LIU Post women's lacrosse sophomore midfielder Ryan McKinney (Downingtown, Pa.) has been named the East Coast Conference Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.

She led all players Saturday (Apr. 22) with seven goals and a career-best eight points at No. 16 Mercy, after tallying a game-high four goals in a thrilling 9-8 overtime victory against then-No. 10 New Haven last Thursday (Apr. 20).

McKinney, who has registered multiple points in 10 of the team's 13 games this season, currently places ninth in the ECC in goals (41) and shots (80). She also has the second-most free-position goals (19) of any player in the league.

In addition, McKinney's .731 conversion rate (19-of-26) on free-position attempts ranks second-best amongst all players in Division II.

McKinney and the Pioneers return to action Wednesday (Apr. 26), when they host St. Thomas Aquinas College in an ECC showdown at 4 p.m. at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in Brookville.
