CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (May 2, 2017) - For the second-straight week, freshman midfielder Austin Guerrina (Longwood, Fla.) of the LIU Post men's lacrosse team was named the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Guerrina led his team with seven points (5 G, 2 A) last week to help propel the green and gold to the final playoff spot in this week's ECC Championship.

Guerrina, who has tallied two goals or more in six of his last seven contests, had two goals and an assist last Wednesday (Apr. 26) in an 18-5 victory at St. Thomas Aquinas.

Then, on Saturday (Apr. 29), Guerrina recorded a game-high four points (3 G, 1 A) and scooped up two ground balls in a 10-5 win against Roberts Wesleyan.

Guerrina and the Pioneers kick off ECC Tournament play on Wednesday (May 3), when they face top-seeded and No. 6/9 New York Institute of Technology at 3:30 p.m. in Old Westbury.
