Box Score
POMONA, N.Y. (May 3, 2017) - The LIU Post baseball team fell to St. Thomas Aquinas College, 17-5, in an East Coast Conference tilt Wednesday at Palisades Credit Union Park in Pomona.
The Pioneers (24-17, 14-7 ECC), who snapped their four-game winning streak, broke through for the game's opening run in the first inning, after a sacrifice fly by senior outfielder
Kenny Daley (Glenwood Landing, N.Y.).
However, the Spartans (33-13, 16-5 ECC) fired back with a four-run outburst in the bottom of the second and never looked back.
The green and gold managed to trim the deficit to a one-run game (4-3) in the third, but that was as close as they came to completing a comeback.
Sophomore designated hitter
Anthony Vaglica (Franklin Square, N.Y.) laced an RBI single in the frame, while freshman first baseman
Zach Fritz (East Meadow, N.Y.) had a sacrifice fly.
Sophomore pitcher
