The Pioneers struck early, as freshman
Samantha Gordon (Amityville, N.Y.) netted her first career goal off a Breihof corner kick eleven minutes into the contest. Just twenty-four seconds later, junior
Andrea Huntzinger (Stockholm, Sweden) found the back of the net for the seventh time this season from a Breihof free kick.
Alice Schonfeldt (Burtrask, Sweden) headed a third tally off of a green and gold corner at 17:12, with assists credited to Huntzinger and Breihof. Sophomore
Julia Duffy (Oceanside, N.Y.) capped off LIU Post's first-half offense with an unassisted strike to the lower right side.
Late into the second half, sophomore
Veronica Saager (East Islip, N.Y.) added to the Pioneer lead with a header off of an
Isabella Fuduli (East Meadow, N.Y.) helper from the right side to put the green and gold ahead by five. Roberts Wesleyan would answer back with a goal at 87:12, but LIU Post held on to their dominating lead to win the contest.
The LIU Post women's soccer team is back in action on Wednesday, October 4th, when they are set to face East Coast Conference rival Molloy at Pioneer Soccer Park in Brookville, N.Y. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
