COMPLETE RESULTS
NEW YORK, N.Y. – The LIU Post women's 4x400-meter relay team took home first place and two Pioneers earned individual wins to lead the Pioneer indoor track and field teams at the Ramapo College Season Opener at the Armory Jan. 19.
On the women's side, the relay team consisting of senior
Talya Williams, sophomores
Alexandria Okon and
Nicolette Agostinacchio, and freshman
Nataly Ramirez crossed the line in 4:05.52 to capture the win. Okon anchored the squad with a final leg time of 59.335 seconds to break away from a nearly identical three-leg split time with Bloomfield College.
Williams put together another dominating performance in the 1,000-meter run, taking first by over 15 seconds with a time of 3:02.90.
The Pioneers had a very successful day in the sprinting events, earning three top-five finishes. Freshman
Jacqueline Ginty took second out of 50 competitors in the 60-meter dash, a race where first and fourth place were separated by just one-tenth of a second in the finals. Okon also finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 1:17.71, one second behind the top time. Ramirez was just behind in fifth place in the same event, crossing the tape in 1:22.17.
The Green and Gold also notched two top-five finishers in the field events, as sophomore
Kaitlyn Klein secured a third-place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 14.02-meters on her final throw of the afternoon. Freshman
Kayra Theodore cleared a height of 1.55-meters to tie for fifth place in the high jump to round out the day.
For the men's team, graduate student
Stefan Adams captured another individual win with a first-place time of 1:04.35 in the 500-meter dash. Adams later anchored the school's 4x400-meter relay team which also included senior
Ramel Joseph, sophomore
Jeffrey Reyes, and freshman
Jaelin Hood, leading them to a fourth-place finish out of 23 competitors. Adams clocked a time of 47.639 seconds in the final leg, the fastest split of the race, helping the Pioneers advance three positions in the last stretch.
Freshman
Destyn Harding recorded another top-five finish in the sprinting events, finishing the 60-meter dash in 7.10 seconds to take fifth-place out of 59 competitors.
The Pioneers return to the track on Friday, Feb. 2 at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
