Men's Lacrosse Slated Third in ECC Preseason Poll

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The LIU Post men's lacrosse team was voted third in the East Coast Conference as announced by the league office Jan. 24.
 
The Pioneers garnered one first-place vote in the poll, with New York Institute of Technology earning five votes to land the top spot and Mercy College receiving the final first-place vote, ranking second. LIU Post ended the 2017 campaign receiving votes in the final Nike/USILA national poll, and return of a core group of standout players from a year ago that they are looking to build on.
 
The Green and Gold return 97 percent of their scoring from last season, including senior captain Dylan Harned and four other All-East Coast Conference members. As a team last year, the Green and Gold ranked third in the ECC in scoring with 171 goals on the offensive end, while finishing second goals-against average, allowing just 8.12 goals per tilt.
 
The team will tune-up for the regular season with scrimmages against Nassau Community College on Saturday, Feb. 3, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday, Jan. 10 at Bethpage Federal Credit Union before opening the regular season on the road at American International College in Springfield, Mass. On Saturday, Feb. 17.
