THE FIRST LOOK
The LIU Post field hockey team (13-4, 12-3) captured the No. 3 seed in the NE10 after posting a 12-3 record in league play this season. LIU Post finished the regular season ranked No. 7 in NCAA Division II and No. 3 in the NCAA Division II East Region poll. The Pioneers closed out the regular season with a 7-1 win over American International College on Friday, Nov. 9.
Stonehill College (12-6, 8-5) enters the postseason as the No. 6 seed with an 8-5 record in conference play. The Mavericks earned the No. 9 ranking in the NCAA Division II East Region and wrapped up regular season play with a 5-0 win over Saint Michael's College on Saturday, Nov. 19.
INSIDE THE SERIES
While the Pioneers all-time record against Stonehill is 9-11, LIU Post earned a 4-1 win in the most recent meeting between the two teams. On Sunday, Oct. 28 the Green and Gold defeated the Skyhawks 4-1 and senior
Emily Miller became the program's career leader in points at W.B. Mason Stadium in Easton, Massachusetts. Miller scored two goals while sophomore
Sammy Bell and freshman
Maddie Leitner each added one. Junior
Taylor Brodsky and Miller both had an assist.
SCOUTING REPORT
LIU Post
The Pioneers lead the NE10 and are tied for second in NCAA Division II in goals with 64 and goals per game with 3.8. LIU Post also leads the conference and is second nationally in points and points per game with 164 and 9.65. LIU Post's 37 assists were second highest in the NE10 and seventh nationally. The Pioneers' 1.46 goals against average was sixth in the conference and their 25 goals against was tenth.
Miller is the national leader in points per game with and 3.76 and is second nationally and in the NE10 in points with 64. She leads NCAA Division II in both assists and assists per game with 14 and 0.82. and her 25 goals and 1.47 goals per game also rank second nationally and in the conference.
Bell is also among the national leaders in several offensive categories; her 16 goals are tied fourth in the NE10 and tied for sixth in the nation while her 1.07 goals per game are tied for fifth nationally. She is tied for sixth in NCAA Division II in points with 39, which is also fourth in the NE10.
Sophomore
Rachel Vellis has been a standout at goalkeeper for the Pioneer. She was named NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week on Sept. 18 and Nov. 6 while her .803 save percentage is second in the conference and fifth nationally. She is also fifth in the NE10 saves with 102.
Stonehill
The Skyhawk's 58 goals and 3.2 goals against average were third in the NE10. Stonehill tallied 30 assists on the season, which was sixth-highest in the conference and conceded 27 goals, ninth-most in the NE10. Stonehill's 1.46 goals against average is ranked sixth in the conference.
Senior Kacie Smith is the Skyhawks standout performer. She leads the nation in points with 60 and goals with 29. Her 3.72 points per game are ranked second in NCAA Division and the NE10.
Stonehill's goalkeeper is senior Sarah Freedman; she has a 12-6 record on the season with three shutouts. She has 86 saves which is 11
th in the NE10 and a save percentage of .782 along with a 1.42 goals against average which has her fifth in the conference in both categories.

TICKET INFORMATION
Admission will be charged for all fans in attendance for the NE10 tournament. Tickets for adults will be $6, children and senior citizens $4 and students with a valid NE10 ID $1.

If the Pioneers defeat the Skyhawks they will face the winner of second-seeded Merrimack and seventh-seeded Bentley on Friday, Nov. 16. Location will be determined by outcome of the Merrimack-Bentley game.
