BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Eight players scored to help the No. 7/11 LIU Post women's lacrosse team remain a perfect 3-0 on the home turf this season as the Pioneers upended Molloy College 15-6 at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium March 23.

The Green and Gold improve to 2-0 in East Coast Conference play with the win while Molloy drops to 1-1 in league action with the loss.

Sophomore Alyssa Mallery had a big game for the Pioneers, recording five points on three goals and two assists, while also recording seven draw controls. Classmate Paige Sherlock added three goals as well to go with a single helper for four points and fellow sophomore Jill LoManto and junior Trish Brisotti recorded three points on the day.

Between the pipes, senior Olivia Kirk made 11 saves for a .647 save percentage, allowing just six goals for her fifth win of the season.

Molloy opened the scoring just 61 seconds into the contest, but the Pioneers quickly took control by scoring the next seven tallies to jump ahead 7-1. Molloy did not score again until the 2:37 mark of the first half to cut the deficit to five goals. Sophomore Brianna Feldman found the back of the net during the final minute of the half, however, as the Pioneers took a six-goal lead into the halftime intermission.

The Lions broke through first in the second half as well, scoring their third goal of the contest just under six minutes into the stanza to make it a five-goal game once again. The Pioneer defense stepped up though, and the offense took care of the rest as it the five-goal lead was as close as the game would be the rest of the way as junior Mackenzie Hitchcock sparked a 4-0 run to help the Pioneers pull away late for the 15-6 victory.

The Pioneers will look to stay perfect in ECC play tomorrow when they host the University of the District of Columbia at 12:00 p.m.
