BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The No. 14/16 LIU Post men's lacrosse team stayed perfect both at home and in East Coast Conference play with a 10-5 victory against St. Thomas Aquinas College at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium April 7.

Freshman William Snelders, the country's leading scorer, continued to have his way on the offensive end Saturday, scoring eight of the 10 LIU Post goals for the day. Snelders recorded a point on every Pioneer goal, adding two assists on tallies by sophomores Nick Grassa and Austin Guerrina. The Pioneers outshot the Spartans 50-19 on the afternoon.

On the defensive end, junior Bryan Ochs made eight saves to earn the win in goal, while St. Thomas Aquinas' Ryan Mello made 17 saves on the opposite end. Junior Connor Farrell dominated once again in the face-off circle, going 16-for-19 to help the Pioneers hold a 40-16 advantage in ground balls.

It was the Spartans making the most noise early, scoring three times during the opening three minutes, leading to an LIU Post timeout, but the Pioneers came storming back after the recollection. Snelders scored less than 40 seconds after the timeout, sparking a 7-0 run to give the Pioneers the lead. The Spartans added two goals in less than three minutes early in the second quarter, but LIU Post held St. Thomas Aquinas scoreless for the final 38:34.

Guerrina added a goal before halftime, and Snelders tallied two more goals in the second half to help the Green and Gold stay perfect in ECC play.

The Pioneers will look to keep rolling on Wednesday, April 11 when they travel to Molloy College for an ECC matchup beginning at 7:00 p.m.
