GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association revealed the list of 2018 Academic Honor Squads July 23, with LIU Post garnering recognition for their academic success in the classroom for the 2017-18 academic year.
 
The Pioneers were one of 339 teams across Divisions I, II, and III along with NAIA members recognized by the IWLCA. To be eligible for the honor, team's must have posted a 3.0 or higher team grade point average for the year.
 
This year, the Green and Gold posted a 3.416 GPA, while also capturing its fourth-consecutive East Coast Conference title and making its third-straight appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
 
Along with the Academic Honor Squad, the IWLCA also revealed its 2018 Division II Academic Honor Roll Monday. The Pioneers received one honoree for the award which recognizes juniors, seniors, and graduate students that have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Junior midfielder Mackenzie Hitchcock garnered recognition with a cumulative GPA of 3.99 as an accounting major. Earlier this season Hitchcock was awarded the ECC's inaugural Elite 18 award which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest GPA competing in the conference postseason tournament.
